The Adventurer Academy is an institution of education, training, evaluation, and development for those who choose the Adventurer path. It is not an Adventurer Guild. An Adventurer may belong to the Academy while also belonging to one Adventurer Guild.
Offensive, Defensive, Restoration, and Utility Adventurers all have a place within the Academy. Their abilities may differ dramatically, but each is expected to learn how to survive, contribute, and work alongside Adventurers whose strengths are different from their own.

Joining the Academy does not consume an Adventurer's one Guild membership. Academy standing and Guild standing grow independently.
Offensive, Defensive, Restoration, and Utility Adventurers train under the same larger institution while learning the responsibilities and strengths of their own Aspect.
The Academy gives Adventurers structured opportunities to learn, practice, gain practical experience, and understand how different Aspects work together without turning those Aspects into traditional classes.
Academy work can place members in situations that test judgment, teamwork, survival, and meaningful use of developing abilities. Taking on danger in the Academy's service can become part of an Adventurer's record there.
Work performed for the Academy builds Academy Renown separately from character level, Guild standing, and the character's wider Renown or Infamy in Katarra.
The Academy uses a three-star standing system. Greater standing represents a deeper history of contribution and can open additional trust, opportunities, and privileges within the institution.
The Academy is also a place where Adventurers can be tested and recognized for how they apply their abilities, work with others, and respond when circumstances become dangerous.
Academy membership is intended to grow with the character. Early instruction can eventually become a long-standing institutional relationship shaped by the Adventurer's accomplishments.
